Jewelry industry

17 Mar

It is really difficult to trace the current statics for jewelry industry or Jewelry trends. You can get such information only and only if you have strong contacts with the concerned authority lets say concerned department keeping track of Production, sales and demands for the particular sections of jewelry.

I can give you some tips to find out such information online. Everyone knows the internet is the virtual world and is the best information source in the world. And search engines makes it even better.

Lets take a example of Google, there is the section in the Google called a Google suggestion. These shows the search volume of the keyword typed in the search box. Hence you will come to know which type of jewelry is searched more. You can actually collect some good jewelry related keywords and then compare it together on Google trends. which will give you proper comparison report for all the keywords you entered.

What type of markings represent a diamond on jewelry

17 Mar

The markings are typically for the type of metal or manufacturer an not the stone, unless it says cz then it is indicating that you do not have a diamond but rather a cubic zirconium. In rare instances the stones carat weight may be listed either ct meaning carat weight for one stone, or tw for total weight of more than 1 stone. If you tell me what the marking says, or looks like then maybe I can help you or you can take it to an appraiser. If it is a symbol and not a series of letters then this is probably the hallmark (manufacturers logo).
Hope this helps, Susu|||Go to a jewelry appraiser they can answer your question and appraise the worth of the pin.|||If your pin has a 'diamond' in it take it to any jeweler or pawn (maybe better) and a test can be done easily and in a second which measures components of contrast in the diamond: It's a pen which beeps if the diamond is real. Gold analysis is done with a stain (10, 14, or 18k). Estate pieces which are very old will just say GOLD, or maybe nothing at all because many of the alloys used now are newer and back then it wasn't pertinent.

Cost of someone to make jewelry in bulk?

17 Mar

$5.25 per 100 crystals .|||It depends on the type of jewelry. I make jewlery for craft fairs and I charge $5 for earrings and around $12 for a necklace. It would cost around $15 for a set of earrings, a bracelet, and a necklace. In bulk, I would charge $2 per pair of earrings and $6 for a necklace. Bracelets sell in bulk for $3 each. The more people order, the less they pay per unit.

Do i need a vendors permit to sell handmade jewelry to people on the street?

17 Mar

I don't think you require any permit to sell such stuff on street. But if such permits are required the concerned department will some day warn you and as you to take a required permit first and sell your product.

Still if you want some information Visit : http://www.webanswers.com/misc/jewelry-728dba

This is similar Kind of question and i think it may help you continuing your hand made business|||Of course it would depend on state law, but usually it is municpalities that have such ordinaces. Like Sante Fe that struictly regulates who can seel on the street and who can't; or NY burroughs or DC which require evrybosy that sells anything to have license.
All you have to do is ask at city hall, it is better to ask that to lose all your profit to a fine.

What is the stamp SP on gold jewelry mean

17 Mar

The SP stamp on gold jewelry could stand for a couple of things. If there is a gemstone on the piece it could be defining the stone as Semi Precious. Other than that is is more likely a manufacturer mark.

How much is my gold jewelry worth?

17 Mar

I don't specialize in this area, BUT i WARN u NOT 2 fall 4 these fly-by-nites that pay very little 4 valuables.
i sent in a broken, but pretty expensive gold necklace, & got only $4|||It's funny how we pay thru the nose 4 our stuff, but when we sell it, no 1 wants 2 pay 4 it. don't it just SUCK!|||I would like to sell some gold jewelry that I have. In total, the weight is about 4 ounces. What would this sell for if I were to sell it to a jeweler, pawn broker or gold buyer. Thank you|||I didn't get any good answers, but I couldn't figure out how not to pick one. This one seemed best.|||It's beautiful!but i like new|||You can Auction your jewelry at ebay and well known auction sites.|||Here, I'll tell you how to find the value of your gold, First find out the value of gold on the stock market, then, find out how many grams or DWT (pennyweights) you have, take the price of gold on the stock market and divde it by the puridy of the your gold, Example: if you have 14K you would divide it by .585 (make sure to get the point in front), then that answer will tell you what your gold is worth on the stock market for 14K [18K would be .75] [24K would 1.0] [10K would be .417] then just divide it by 20 (if you weighted your gold in pennyweights), or 31.1 (if you weighed your in grams) then take that answer and times it by how many grams or pennyweights you have, that will tell you the stock market value of your gold, but chances are, unless you sell it outright to a friend or family member, your not going to get that price for your gold, gold buying places tipically pay 60% – 75% of what your gold is worth,So make sure you shop around and never go with the first price ;) Hope this helps!

I found a piece of jewelry

17 Mar

If it didn't belong to the store, it might not be illegal, but it seems to me it may be immoral to not make a sincere effort to find its owner. Look at it from the owner's point of view from your eyes. If you lost it, would you not want someone to at least try to get it back to you?|||I am not looking for the moral ethical answer… jus tthe legal one. I fully understand the morla/ ethical implications to myself.|||It it was lost by an individual, then you're good to go.

I lost some jewelry about 3 years ago, I talked to a psychic a couple of years ago but I still have not found it. Help

17 Mar

Im not a pshycic but i feel u wasted money on them try to become in the same stsate of mind u were in when u last had it or have a pen and pad near u when u go to bed continue telling yourself u will remember b4 u fall asleep yah it makes it harder to sleep but maybe it will come to u as u try to program your mind its still in there subconciously|||How much did you pay the psychics to help you? I'll help you too if you pay me just as much.|||When I can't find something I petition St Anthony. Then again, I also buried St Joseph in the yard upside down when selling my last house.

If I'm meant to find my lost things, I do rather quickly, and my house sold for more than my asking price in under three weeks. Your mileage may vary.|||The first idea that came to mind was to stop going to psychics. If you think you lost the jewelry in your current home, methodically go through and clean absolutely everything in each room of your house. More than likely it's somewhere you don't go often so you'll have to really go at it.

It's a long and lengthy process that can be done in your leisure and is probably a better way to spend the next three years rather than going to another psychic.

Good Luck.

Jewelry making wire

17 Mar

You choose wire hardness depending on the use. It gets confusing at first, but once you start working with the various kinds of wire, you will get a feel for it.

Hard- Use hard wire when you need to create shapes that will stay the way you put them. it's stiff and the bigger the gauge, the more difficult it is to maneuver into the precise shape you may be trying to accomplish.

You could use it for headpins, eye pins or shapes that don't require a lot of twisting and curving into shapes. Hard wire is so unyielding, I rarely use it for projects.

Dead Soft – This wire is just about the opposite of Hard. It's flexible, so you can twirl it easily, wrap it around things, and do pretty much whatever you want to do. Because it's so soft, it won't stay where you put it unless you wind it into place or attach the loose ends.

If you want to create a shape that holds tightly, a coil, an earwire…. you need to hammer dead soft wire a bit.

Half-hard – This wire has some of the properties of both hard and soft. It's versatile and flexible, but hard enough to hold a shape.

I use half hard for most things I do.|||You choose depending on the use

What jewelry did you wear at your wedding?

17 Mar

Decide upon an engagement ring.. a bracelet would be appropriate with the dress. Hair jewelry may include a tiara to which a veil may be attached, or it might include a diamond or cubic zirconia or pearl hair clip.|||I wore some cloisonne hair combs my mother gave me and a cross necklace. Good luck and best wishes.|||My wife wore faux Diamond faux earrings (they looked very good on her). Her crown was made using faux Diamonds and pearls (not sure if they were real). The crown mixture was appropriate because her wedding dress had pearls (I think those were real) sewn into it. I thought it was a very beautiful set and I would recommend that any lady wear it when they get married.

Where's the best place to sell old gold jewelry?

17 Mar

You can go to a few professional jewellers and get them appraised; or sell them yourself on ebay.

Gold is at an all time high, but it could still go up. There's no guarantee though, so with Gold at a high you probably would be OK selling now.|||Do not use the mail in feature. it is too risky, and jewelry stores, unless they have a license to do so cannot buy any jewelry from the public. dont go to one of those jewelry parties because you wont get what you should because the person buying the jewelry has to be paid something for coming there and the person holding the party gets a percentage of the entire amount paid out.as a family we have a license to buy gold, silver, etc/ and for the most part we pay the best in this area. we have been in the business for 35 years. take your jewelry to a licensed store, that in my opinion, would be your best bet. call around to seel who is licensed before you go there. good luck.
